Wie wins CN Canadian Women’s Open

Michelle Wie shot a final-round 70 Sunday to win the 2010 CN Candadian Women’s Open at St. Charles Country Club in Winnipeg. Wie’s 12-under par 276 earned her a three stroke victory over a group of three players at 9-under. Defending champion Suzann Petterson, Jiyai Shin and Kristy McPherson tied for second place.

Miyazato wins Safeway Classic

Ai Miyazato earned the Rolex Rankings No. 1 spot and her LPGA-best fifth victory of the year Sunday at the Safeway Classic at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore. Miyazato's final-round, even-par 72 was enough to hold of the former Rolex Rankings No. 1 Cristie Kerr and Na Yeon Choi. Miyazato, who is projected to earn the No. 1 ranking later today, finished the tournament at 11-under 205, two shots better than Kerr and Choi.

 

Tseng wins RICOH Women's British Open

ani Tseng, the Rolex Rankings fifth-ranked player, carded a final-round 73 to win the 2010 RICOH Women's British Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. With the victory, the 21-year old Tseng became the youngest player in LPGA history to win three Major Championship titles. She won the Kraft Nabisco Championship earlier this year and the LPGA Championship as a rookie in 2008.

Shin wins Evian Masters

Jiyai Shin won the Evian Masters Presented by Societe Generale on Sunday. Shin sank a biridie putt on the 18th hole to break a four-way tie with Morgan Pressel, Alexis Thompson and Na Yeon Choi. THe win was the seventh of Shin's career on the LPGA Tour and her first this season. With the victory, Shin took over the No. 1 spot in the Rolex Rankings Monday morning.

Creamer wins U.S. Women's Open

Paula Creamer earned her first major championship victory on Sunday, taking home the title at the 65th U.S. Women's Open at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa.

Gladstone, N.J. – Octagon and Sybase, Inc. today announced that the Sybase® Match Play Championship, an official LPGA event, will return from May 16 through 22, 2011 to Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone.  The 2011 Championship will mark the second year of a three-year agreement between Octagon, Sybase and Hamilton Farm.

In May 2010, Sun Young Yoo won the inaugural Sybase Match Play Championship by defeating Angela Stanford 3&1 in the final match. Yoo completed six matches over four days to win the trophy and a $375,000 payday at Hamilton Farm Golf Club.  With the victory, Yoo became a Rolex First-Time Winner on the LPGA Tour.

“We are pleased with Sybase’s long-time commitment to supporting the LPGA,” said Tournament Executive Director Andy Bush. “Thanks to the well received venue at Hamilton Farm and our new format, our ticket promotions received more than double the response of previous years.
